Sync
Synchronization keeps the local copy of the public library up to date. PPPTools only downloads changed content — new, modified, and deleted entries.
Accessing
PPPTools → Settings → Sync
Version Display
At the top of the Sync tab, PPPTools shows the current sync status:

The first number is your local version, the second is the current public version from the manifest in the network path.
Automatic Synchronization
PPPTools synchronizes automatically when the Task Pane is opened — but at most every 5 minutes. The manifest contains a version number: if it has changed, all differences are applied.
Manual Synchronization
- Open the Sync sub-tab
- Click Sync Now
- The result appears to the right of the button:

Note
The Sync button is only active if a public network path is configured. Set up the path under Storage Locations.
Sync History
The history shows all past synchronizations with date and number of changes:

Detail View
Click on an entry in the history to view all affected changes with preview and metadata. Use ◀ ▶ to navigate between individual changes.
For content changes (Snippets, Slides, Storylines), the preview image is shown along with all metadata (category, language, author, etc.).
For value list changes, the following information appears:

Each changed value appears as its own navigable entry — just like Snippets, Slides, and Storylines. No preview image, only the metadata of the value.
What is Synchronized?
- New public content (Snippets, Slides, Storylines)
- Changed metadata and preview images
- Deleted or withdrawn content
- Value lists (languages, status, classifications, audiences, tags, categories)
Private content is never synchronized.
Value List Sync
The manifest always contains the complete current inventory of all public value lists. During sync, PPPTools compares the manifest state with your local public values and applies the differences:

Version-independent
Since the manifest always contains the complete current inventory (no delta), sync works correctly even if multiple versions were skipped — e.g. jumping from v2 directly to v10.
Admin Changes
When the admin edits value lists in Settings → Value Lists, the manifest version number is automatically incremented. Users receive the updated lists at the next sync.
