PPPTools offers three alignment modes, all relative to the selected reference object.

Flush Align (to Reference Edge)

Shapes are aligned flush with an edge of the reference object.

Icon Function
Left Left — left edge of all shapes to the left edge of the reference object
Top Top — top edge to top edge
Center Vertical Center (vertical) — vertical center axis to center of the reference object
Right Right — right edge to right edge
Bottom Bottom — bottom edge to bottom edge
Center Horizontal Center (horizontal) — horizontal center axis to center

Align to Each Other (with Gap)

Shapes are arranged next to each other with a configurable gap relative to the reference object. The gap is entered in the Ribbon field Gap (in pt).

Icon Function
Each Other Left Side by side left — shapes are lined up left-aligned with a gap
Each Other Top Stacked top — shapes are lined up at the top with a gap
Each Other Right Side by side right — right-aligned with a gap
Each Other Bottom Stacked bottom — at the bottom with a gap

Align to Master (with Gap)

Shapes are moved with a gap toward the reference object (master) — directly against its edge with the defined clearance.

Icon Function
Master Left To master — left — move shapes to the left edge of the reference object
Master Top To master — top
Master Right To master — right
Master Bottom To master — bottom

9-Point Positioning

For direct placement at one of nine positions (corners, edges, center) of the reference object:

Left Center Right
Top Left-Top Center-Top Right-Top
Middle Left-Middle Center Right-Middle
Bottom Left-Bottom Center-Bottom Right-Bottom

Typical Workflow

  1. Choose the reference mode (e.g. Workarea)
  2. Select all shapes to be positioned
  3. Click the alignment button — done
