Colour palettes

These colour palettes are shared: the same selection is available in the Wordcloud generator, the puzzle, the colour swatch tool, in Multiply, in the Venn diagram and as the palette group in the colour picker of the format dialogs. This page is the common reference — the tools link here.

Managing palettes yourself

The lists further down are the shipped state, not the last word: in the palette manager you create your own palettes and gradients, rename, recolour or hide the shipped ones — and return to the shipped state whenever you want.

How to get there: in the ribbon PPPTools → group "Tools" click Farbpaletten, then the Verwalten tab — in the task pane, next to the tab for applying colours. Switching to Verwalten widens the task pane automatically; switching back makes it narrow again.

List and editor

On the left the list of all palettes, grouped into Paletten and Verläufe, each with a colour strip and an origin hint. On the right the editor for the selected entry. Changes are saved immediately — there is no "OK" to confirm, because every single change can be taken back individually.

Search

Above the list there is a search box (Palette suchen…). Typing filters the list instantly; case and accents are ignored, so "grun" also finds Grüntöne. The former names are searched too — a renamed palette is still found under its old name. The × on the right clears the box. The editor stays on the selected entry even while that entry is filtered out.

Editing the colours

The colours sit side by side as tiles:

• Click a tile to open the colour picker.
• Right-click a tile: Ändern…, Nach links, Nach rechts, Entfernen.
• + at the end appends another colour.

Besides fixed values (#1F6FD0), design references are allowed: accent1 takes the first accent colour of the presentation, accent1+40 a variant lightened by 40 %. Such colours move along when the presentation changes its design — see From the active slide design.

Colours from the slide or from a list

• Aus Auswahl takes the fill colours of the selected objects — the fastest way from a designed slide to a palette. Duplicates are dropped.
• Hex-Liste… opens a text box for a colour list separated by commas, spaces or line breaks. Hex values and design references are allowed — handy for adopting the colours from a corporate design document.

Where the palettes come from

Three layers sit on top of each other, the upper one wins:

Only the difference is stored: as long as you change nothing about Ozean, that palette is not in your file at all — so later improvements still reach you. Only a change creates an entry of your own, and Auf Werk zurücksetzen removes it again.

Passing palettes on

Both buttons sit below the palette list, right underneath Neu and Duplizieren.

• Exportieren… writes the selected entry to a .pppcolors file — a plain XML file holding the name, the kind (palette or gradient) and the list of colours. You can pass it on by mail, chat or network drive and open it in any text editor.
• Importieren… reads exactly such files back in (only .pppcolors; other formats like .aco, .ase or .gpl are not understood). One file may contain several palettes — all of them are taken over.
• Imported palettes always arrive as your own: new id, and a number appended if the name already exists. A factory palette or one of your existing ones is never overwritten by an import. Theme references such as "Accent 1, 40 % lighter" travel as references and follow the recipient's deck.
• Ins Team-Share makes the palette available to everyone using the same location. The button only appears in admin mode and only if a location is configured.

Backup

Your palettes are part of the backup under the category Farbpaletten. The team state is deliberately excluded — it belongs to the shared location, not to the individual workstation.

From the active slide design

Four entries are not a fixed colour list but refer to the design of the presentation. Like every other palette they are offered in every palette list — Wordcloud, puzzle, colour swatch, Multiply, Venn and the colour picker.

Gradients

Each element stays one colour; the colour derives from its position (Wordcloud) or the gradient direction (puzzle).

Colours from image

Colours from image (selection) (Wordcloud only) pulls the palette from a selected picture — the cloud adopts the colour world of a photo or logo.
