Manage Storylines

Created: 2026-05-24 10:00 · Updated: 2026-05-24 10:00

The Manage area for Storylines allows editing metadata, managing included slides, and launching the Slide Picker.

Layout

The area is split into two panels:

Panel Content
Left Storyline list with filters, search, and action buttons
Right Metadata form + slide previews of the selected storyline

Left Panel — Storyline List

Filters

The storyline list can be filtered by:

Filter Description
Search Free-text search by storyline name
Sources Private / Public
Languages e.g. German, English
Categories Configured categories
Audiences Configured target audiences
Status e.g. Draft, Approved
Classifications e.g. Internal, Public

Refresh reloads the list. Reset Filter clears all filters (including sort order).

Sort Order

Below the filters, a Sort dropdown controls the order of the list:

Option Description
Name (A→Z) Alphabetical ascending (default)
Frequency Most frequently used storylines first
Last used Most recently used first
Created (new→old) Newest storylines first
Category and Name Sorted by category first, then alphabetically

New Storyline

The + New button in the orange header bar opens an empty form to create a new storyline.

Right Panel — Detail & Preview

After selecting a storyline in the list, the right panel shows:

  • Metadata form — Name, Category, Language, Audience, Status, Classification, Author, Section Name, Description
  • Slide previews — Thumbnail images of all slides contained in the storyline, scrollable across multiple rows

Reordering Slides

The order of slides can be adjusted via drag & drop in the preview area.

Adding / Removing Slides

The [Editor] button opens the Slide Picker.

Slide Picker (Editor)

The Slide Picker is a full-width overlay that covers the entire taskpane. It allows adding and removing slides from the storyline.

Layout

Left Panel — Slide Library

Filters (top): Search, Sources, Languages, Categories, Audiences, Status, Classifications

The picker also has a Sort dropdown with the same options as the main Manage panel.

The orange header shows the number of matching slides and two view toggle buttons:

Button View
(Large) Large thumbnails, one slide per row
(Small) Small thumbnails, two slides side by side

The "By Category" display option works in both views: in the large view, section dividers separate groups; in the small view, compact category headers introduce each group and force a new row of thumbnails.

Add to storyline: Double-click a slide or click its ✓ badge.

✓ Badge

The green ✓ badge in the top-right corner of a thumbnail indicates that the slide is already part of the current storyline — not just that it was recently added. Clicking the badge on an already-included slide does nothing; the slide is already there.

Slides without a badge are not yet in the storyline. Double-clicking or clicking the badge area adds them (the badge then turns green).

Right Panel — In this Storyline

Shows all slides already assigned to the storyline. The orange header displays the current count.

Click next to a slide to remove it from the storyline.

Back

The ◄ Back button at the bottom right closes the Slide Picker and returns to the normal Manage view. Changes are saved automatically.

Tip

Use the small view (⊞) when browsing many slides — two slides side by side give a quick overview. Switch to the large view (▬) when you need to assess content in more detail. The sort option "Category and Name" works well together with "By Category" for a structured overview.

Publish

Use the Publish button to submit the storyline for admin approval. Required fields must be filled in — see Required Fields.
