Stretch Settings
Controls how the Stretch tool moves the edges of shapes:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Gap to Reference | Minimum distance (in pt) maintained when stretching to the reference edge |
| Mode | Determines whether the shape is stretched to the reference edge or whether a fixed gap is maintained |
Fill Gap Settings
Controls how the Fill Gap tool operates:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Gap | Distance (in pt) maintained when filling the gap between the shape and the reference |
| Direction | Left / Top / Right / Bottom — determines the direction in which the gap is filled |
Difference Between Stretch and Fill Gap
The animations on the Resize page show the visual difference:
- Stretch: The entire edge of the shape is extended to the reference boundary. The shape may become smaller or larger in the process.
- Fill Gap: Only the gap between the shape and the reference is filled. The shape always becomes larger.
The spacing values configured here apply globally to all presentations and are saved in the PPPTools settings.
