Quotes & Proverbs

The online library ships a curated collection of quotes and proverbs in German, English and French. They show up in the Text Manager as soon as online mode is active — one click puts them on the slide.

No download required

A text building block is nothing but its wording. There is no ZIP file and no preview image — the text travels with the catalogue and is ready to use immediately. Unlike snippets or slides, you never have to download it first.

Opening the collection

  1. Click 🌐 in the ribbon (Content Manager group) — the turquoise banner confirms online mode.
  2. Open the Text Manager (burger menu ≡ → Texts or the ribbon button).
  3. The gallery now shows the online building blocks instead of your own.

Inserting works exactly as with your own blocks — the cursor position and the selection on the slide decide where the text lands. The rules are on the Text Manager page.

What is included

Area Categories Examples
Quotes Motivation · Courage · Success · Leadership · Communication · Collaboration · Change · Innovation · Simplicity · Time · Learning Seneca, Laozi, Goethe, Marie Curie, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Mark Twain, Heraclitus
Proverbs General · Beginnings · Perseverance · Success · Innovation · Communication · Learning · Courage · Caution · Change · Time · Collaboration "Too many cooks spoil the broth", "Rome wasn't built in a day", "Petit à petit, l'oiseau fait son nid"

Every block carries a short description with a usage hint ("for slides about …") and its source. Categories are two-level — Zitate/Führung, Sprichwörter/Zeit — so you can filter a whole branch or a single topic.

Finding the languages

Most entries exist in several languages and are linked as language variants: from the German wording you jump straight to the English or French one without searching again — see Language Variants.

Where a language is missing, that is deliberate. A proverb is not translated word by word; it is replaced by the equivalent saying of that language. If no saying carries the same meaning, the entry stays monolingual.

Searching the wording

If you only remember a keyword from the quote, tick Text content in the search — the wording is then searched too, not just name, tags and description. On the public website the catalogue search does this automatically.

Rights

The collection contains public-domain material only: proverbs without a known author, and quotes by authors who died more than 70 years ago. You can use them in client and business presentations without asking anyone.

Where a saying is merely attributed to a person, this is stated with the author — for example "Heraclitus (attributed)". If your deck has to be citation-proof, verify those entries before publishing.
