Agenda scopes
Within one presentation you can run several independent agenda scopes — for example "Morning" and "Afternoon", or one scope per workshop day. Each scope has its own agenda items, its own header data and its own numbering, yet shares a common look with all other scopes in the same deck.
Pro feature
Agenda scopes are available from the Pro licence tier upwards.
This page is part of the Agenda Master. For an introduction see Agenda – overview, for the look the Format templates, for reconciliation Update & read back, and for display options Layout & display.
Global versus scope: two groups on the "Presentation" tab
The Presentation tab is split into two groups. This makes it clear at a glance what applies to the whole deck and what applies only to the active scope.
Group "Global — for the whole deck" applies to all scopes together. It forms the shared "look":
- Presentation title
- Project name
- Classification
- Status
- Format template
- ToC variant
- Accent colour (design)
- Master layout
When you change something here, it affects every scope in the deck.
Group "Agenda — this scope" applies only to the active scope:
- Active scope (dropdown) with the "+ New" and "Delete" buttons
- Scope ID (display only)
- Scope name (editable)
- Presenter
- Date (YYYY-MM-DD)
- Start time (HH:MM)
- Audience
Creating a scope
The "+ New" button creates an additional scope. It gets a default name (such as "Agenda 2"), becomes active immediately and loads into the panel empty. The previous scope is saved automatically beforehand — so nothing is lost.
Switching scopes
Use the "Active scope" dropdown to jump between scopes. The behaviour is "auto-commit, then load": when you switch, the panel silently writes your current entries into the outgoing scope — without rebuilding the slides — and then loads the target scope.
No lost entries
Because your entries are committed to the outgoing scope automatically on switch, you can move back and forth between scopes at any time without losing anything.
Renaming
Type the new name into the "Scope name" field and leave the field. The name in the "Active scope" dropdown then updates automatically.
Deleting
The "Delete" button is only active when more than one scope exists — the last remaining scope cannot be deleted. Before deleting, a confirmation prompt appears (OK/Cancel). If you confirm, the agenda slides belonging to that scope are removed as well.
Deleting also removes slides
Deleting a scope removes its agenda slides from the deck. Before confirming, check that you have the right scope active.
Numbering across scopes
On the Configuration tab → "Numbering" group there is, per scope, the checkbox "Continue numbering from the previous scope" (default OFF).
- Off — the scope starts at its own start number.
- On — numbering continues where the previous scope left off. The "Start number" field is then greyed out.
Example: The morning covers items 1–4. Tick the box on the afternoon and it starts at 5, 6, 7 …
Loading a format template into a scope
When you load a format template (preset), it only sets the contents and options of this scope. The shared global look — format template, accent colour and deck metadata — stays untouched.
Migration & compatibility
Existing presentations stay unchanged
A deck with only one scope behaves exactly as it did before agenda scopes were introduced — nothing changes for existing presentations. Scopes are purely an addition for multi-part agendas; you only use them when you need them.
Example workflow: morning and afternoon
Two scopes, one look
- Create the morning scope, enter the items and click ✨ Generate.
- Click "+ New" — the afternoon starts as its own scope.
- Enter the afternoon and, on the Configuration tab, tick "Continue numbering from the previous scope".
- Click ✨ Generate — the numbering carries on seamlessly.
Both scopes share the same format template, and therefore the same look.
