Create a project plan
This page is still being expanded
The project plan generator is ready to use; its full guide is still being written. For now, this page covers how to open it and what the tabs contain.
The project plan panel draws a timeline with task bars and milestones as native PowerPoint shapes — not a picture, but individual shapes you can select, move and format.
Opening
On the ribbon, go to PPPTools → "Tools" group and click Project plan. The panel opens on the right.
The tabs
| Tab | Contents |
|---|---|
| Period | From/to or start + duration, start of fiscal year, week rule, language, status line |
| Headers | Which levels the timeline shows (fiscal year, calendar year, half-year, quarter, month, calendar week, day) — including order, font and colours per level |
| Tasks | The task list itself: bars and milestones, indentation, owners, custom bar colours |
| Layout | Column grid proportional or equal width, text column width, "fit to slide width", colour scheme |
| Legend | Legend entries; colours can be taken from the finished plan |
| Import | Read tasks in from text, from the clipboard or from a file |
At the top of the first tab sits the template bar: save, apply and delete complete settings as a named template.
The two action buttons Create new and Update are fixed at the bottom. "Update" changes a plan that already exists instead of drawing a second one next to it.
Licence
Without a Pro licence: one new plan per day
Only creating a new plan is limited — one per day. Updating an existing plan and all settings are freely available. With a Pro licence the limit no longer applies.
