Default Values

Under Settings → Default Values you configure which filters, which view and which sort order are pre-set in the Content Manager when PowerPoint starts — and whether filters apply jointly across all areas. These settings are a personal preference and are saved locally.


Where to Find It

In the task pane, open the burger menu (≡ at the far right of the main tab bar) → select Settings. The Settings sub-tab bar appears at the top:

Default Filters

Three filters can be set as defaults. They apply simultaneously to Snippets, Slides, and Storylines:

Filter Meaning
Language All = no filter; otherwise only content in the selected language is shown
Classification All = no filter; otherwise only content with the selected classification
Status All = no filter; otherwise only content with the selected status

Tip

If you mostly work with one particular language, classification or status, set it as the default. Every filter can be overridden manually at any time.


Share Filters Across Managers

A checkbox controls whether the common filters are shared across all areas:

State Behavior
on (default) Change a filter (e.g. Language = German) in Search, a gallery or a manager area, and it applies everywhere immediately. There is a single, shared filter state for the whole Content Manager.
off Each area keeps its own filters independently.

The shared filters are: Language, Category, Classification, Audience, Status, Author, Source, Tags, Created and Modified. Type-specific filters stay local — e.g. Object type in Search or Storyline in the Slide area.


Default View & Sort Order

View and sort order apply globally to all gallery and manager areas.

One shared sort list

The sort options are identical in every area — the same list is used everywhere.


Saving and Applying

Two buttons appear at the bottom of the panel:

Button Effect
Save Values are saved permanently and applied automatically on the next PowerPoint start
Apply now Saves and applies the values to the current session immediately — the areas are rebuilt with the new defaults the next time you open them, no restart required

On startup

When PowerPoint next starts, PPPTools reads the saved default values and sets filters, view and sort order in all areas accordingly — before the first tab is opened.


Versions

The menu in the Settings sub-tab bar contains the Versions entry, where the configured library version numbers (Snippets, Slides, Storylines) and the installed documentation version can be viewed and adjusted.
