PPPTools Settings — Telemetry
PPPTools collects anonymous usage data to understand which features are used most frequently. This information helps us improve existing features and introduce new ones where they are needed most.
What is collected?
Each time you use a feature in PPPTools, a data point with the following information is sent to the PPPTools server:
| Field | Example | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Feature | align.left |
Which feature was used |
| License tier | standard |
Your license type |
| App version | 1.4.2 |
Your PPPTools version |
| Machine ID | (anonymised) | Device identifier (not traceable) |
What is NOT collected
- Content of your presentations (no text, images, or shapes)
- File names or file paths
- Personal information beyond your license tier
- Screenshots or activity logs
Enabling or disabling telemetry
Settings → ≡ (Burger menu) → PPPTools Settings
The checkbox "Collect usage data" is enabled by default. You can disable it at any time — the change takes effect immediately and is saved locally.
Administrator lock
If your administrator has set the telemetry option via central configuration, the checkbox is locked (greyed out) and cannot be changed. The hint text shows whether telemetry was enabled or disabled by the administrator.
Privacy
The collected data contains no personally identifiable information. The machine ID is a technical identifier and is not linked to your name or email address.
Data is used exclusively for product development and is not shared with third parties.
