Agenda – Overview

Created: 2026-08-02 12:00 · Updated: 2026-08-02 12:00

The Agenda Master turns a list of agenda items into a table of contents and, optionally, divider slides before each section — in one step, and as real, editable PowerPoint objects rather than an image. If the order changes, you can refresh the agenda at any time without rebuilding everything.

The Agenda Master is a docked pane that stays open at the edge of the window. A tab strip at the top lets you switch between Presentation, Agenda items, Layout, Configuration and Template. Open it with the Agenda button on the PPPTools ribbon.

Pro feature

The Agenda Master is available from the Pro licence tier upwards.

Three steps to an agenda

  1. Enter items — on the Agenda items tab, type one item per line. Indenting turns an item into a sub-item.
  2. Choose the look — on the Layout tab, decide which columns are shown, whether the table of contents appears as a table or a list, and whether divider slides are created.
  3. Generate — click ✨ Generate at the bottom. PPPTools creates the table of contents and the divider slides.

Adjustable at any time

If you later move slides or change the order, ⟳ Refresh brings numbers, time slots and labels back into sync. See Refresh & Import.

The five tabs

Tab Contents
Presentation Header data such as title, presenter, project, date, start time, classification, status and audience (usable as placeholders). This is also where you choose which format template this deck uses and whether the layout comes from the master.
Agenda items The main work area: one item per line, with an expandable detail area. See Entering agenda items.
Layout Visible columns, slide titles, table-of-contents style and accent colour. See Layout & Display.
Configuration Duration calculation, start number and structure options (sections, sub-items in the contents).
Template Edit and manage format templates: save from a sample slide, rename, delete. Which template the deck uses is chosen on the Presentation tab instead. See Format templates.

Concept: real objects, invisible marks

Everything the Agenda Master creates is an ordinary PowerPoint object — text frames, tables and shapes that you edit freely. So that PPPTools can find and refresh these objects later, it adds invisible marks (tags) to them. You never see these marks on the slide; they affect neither printing nor export.

The same marks underpin the format template: from a designed sample slide, PPPTools reads how the table of contents and dividers should look and applies that look to every new agenda.

Header placeholders

In slide titles and text you can use placeholders such as [[TITLE]], [[PRESENTER]], [[PROJECT]], [[DATE]], [[STARTTIME]], [[CLASSIFICATION]], [[STATUS]] and [[AUDIENCE]]. When generating, they are replaced by the values from the Presentation tab.
