Venn Diagrams — Formatting
Each area of the Venn diagram can be formatted individually. The settings are located in the Format tab of the Task Pane.
Intersection Areas
A 3-circle diagram has 7 areas that can be formatted independently:
| Area | Description |
|---|---|
| A | Circle A only (no overlap) |
| B | Circle B only |
| C | Circle C only |
| AB | Overlap of A and B |
| BC | Overlap of B and C |
| AC | Overlap of A and C |
| ABC | Center — overlap of all three circles |
For 2-circle diagrams, C, BC, AC, and ABC are not available.
Formatting Options per Area
The following properties can be set for each area:
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Background color | Fill color of the area |
| Transparency | 0 = fully opaque, 100 = fully transparent |
| Border color | Color of the circle outline |
| Border thickness | Line thickness of the outline in pt |
Format Presets
For quick standardization:
| Button | Effect |
|---|---|
| Apply to Main | Transfers the settings of the current area to all main circles (A, B, C) |
| Apply to Sub | Transfers to all intersection areas (AB, BC, AC, ABC) |
| Apply to All | Transfers to all 7 areas |
Quick Formatting
Format one area completely first (color, transparency, border), then use "Apply to All" — and adjust only the exceptions afterwards.
